LITTLE FORETHOUGHTS THAT ADEQUEATELY LIGHTS UP YOUR HOME.

When a house is being built every owner pays special attention in each stage of construction right from the excavation to the basement to the interior decoration.  The new concept of eco friendly and save energy campaign are incorporated to the different areas like the water conservation, building materials and the use of natural light. By making some changes in the standard designs in the window both in size and numbers and their place in the walls a lot of natural light can seep in during the day time.

But the big question is what happens once the Sun sets in.  There is more to home lighting than just installing a light and a switch that supply the power to that light.  Home lighting needs your special attention during initial installation.  A lot of power can be saved by paying a little attention when the electrical works are carried out for a new home at the same time enough light to brighten up the house during the night.

BRIGHTEN UP YOUR LIVING ROOM:  It is a wise idea to add during the initial electrical work itself one or two additional lights in the living room.  One of those additional lights should be an easily replaceable type with a higher wattage bulb.  This will save a lot of time and energy and costs when there is a function like a party or a get together.  With the already installed lights you have to just change the bulb and switch on them for a brighter living room for the party.

KITCHEN LIGHTS:  Your wife spends time in the kitchen in the early morning and late nights to prepare the food for all in the family.  The lighting in the kitchen should be bright and strategically fixed so as to locating the things without much strain.  Especially with working couples this is very important to save those precious moments in the morning to start early to beat the traffic.  An additional light that throws focused light on the cooking area will be much appreciated by her.

BEDROOM FIXTURES:  The bedroom is not just for retiring for the night.  Most of the modern houses incorporate the dressing table in the master bedroom nowadays.  This necessitates adequate light to get dressed.  Though not as detailed as a dressing mirror in the green room at a backstage, there should be enough light in your dressing table to avoid any shadow on you while dressing.   A good reading lamp with adjustable stalk is a must to catch up with a favorite book or a newspaper article you want to go in detail before going to sleep.

BATHROOMS:  A light above the mirror will help to get a close shave for you or a home facial for your wife.  Being small in size there will be some darkness even in the day time there.  Install some good quality light fixtures there to throw in enough light.  Being exposed to steam and moisture ensure that the lights are properly insulated to resist the water not to damage them over a period of time.

EXTERNAL:  Install lights on the four outer walls of the house and their control switch easily reachable from your bedroom.  In emergencies, with a flick of a switch from your bedroom you can throw enough light around the house to see what is happening outside.

A little forethought is required in home lighting which throws enough light at the same time saves power as well.
